In other words: looking for some link between the houses and shops Indin stopped at while she was being trailed, with the ultimate goal of tracking down who poisoned Anton back when. Since Valdis specified that she was looking for who hurt Anton, China herself will be pursuing that information as well, for her own purpose and possible dispensing to Valdis.
