| If you are looking for a canon update, you’ve come to the right place. Great! The first step? Canon update requests come to us OOCly on this post. This allows for better housekeeping and permits, if needed, for the IC interaction to be handwaved. There are some important things to consider when canon updating your character, the foremost of which is that in Tu Shanshu, this is a voluntary and informed process for the character. That is, they need to actively request to see and experience their future; it cannot happen accidentally, nor during hiatus where the character may be in the Dreaming. This canon-update system does not, unfortunately, allow for characters to return with items from their new canonpoint, due to the nature of how the update progresses. Since they are not actually sent home, but are simply viewing it as if they were present, characters aren't able to update their items during this process, but the connection between the Dreaming and their worlds is strong enough that the memories will feel real, and physical changes will reflect on their bodies in Keeliai. ICly, canon updates are brought to The Cherrywood Healer Milyn by individuals who want to know their future. Milyn uses a serum of refined Gha'nal venom that she developed to access the Dreaming, and later improved upon, in order to send Foreigners deeply into the Dreaming so they can experience their canon. However, the serum is difficult to produce and in limited quantities, and so Milyn requires either a donation to the clinic, some aid in various matters to compensate for her time, or an interview after the update so she can further refine the serum's abilities. Because it's so new, the serum does come with side-effects -- including nausea, headaches and a sensation as if they're not quite in the right place. The longer the canon update, the greater the severity of these effects. Because of the unpredictable movement of time in the Dreaming and in relation to the Life Plane, characters may be gone ICly for varying periods of time, regardless of how far forward they progress in canon. They may return in as little as a few minutes or in as many as a few days. OOCly, this is at the discretion of the player. |
| WHAT HAPPENS IN CHARACTER |
| When Milyn receives a request for a canon update (this can be handwaved), she will gather anyone who has made the request in a room in her clinic. She will accept the cost, or make the necessary appointments, and give the character(s) a bed on which to lie for the length of their 'Dream'. It's a comfortable bed, at least! Their immediate belongings will be kept safe in locked chests along the side of the wall. They will be given an injection which will make them sink into sleep, just as if sedated. When they open their eyes, they will 'awaken' in the last moment they remember from their canons. They will not remember details of their time in Keeliai, but they will feel as though they dreamed of a place far away -- though nothing so impacting that they would remember it while their canon plays out. Once they arrive at the (OOCly determined) new canon point, they will feel as though they've fallen into a dream and reawaken on their bed in Milyn's clinic. All memories of their lives both in canon and in Keeliai will come flooding back to them. Because the canon-update system takes place entirely in the Dreaming, items in a character's possession at the time of the new canon point back will not be present with the character when they awaken. They will be wearing the same clothes, and possess the same items, that they did before they were given the injection. However, because the planes of Life and Dreaming are merged to a unprecedented extent, significant physical and emotional effects will show on a character’s body -- that is, they will show new scars, injuries or signs of aging. If your character needs medical attention, Milyn will be immediately on hand to help them -- though the serum, as said, still needs work and injuries may not heal as quickly or cleanly as a character may want. (OOCly, this is up to player discretion -- if you would like your character healed right away, Milyn will be able to do so.) Characters will also be suffering the aforementioned side-effects of the serum, with the side-effects being more severe the longer the update lasted. These will last for twenty-fours. After Milyn is satisfied with their health (or they have been collected by friends and been lectured as how to best recover), characters will be given all belongings they stored in the chests before departing and then told they are free to go on their way. |

Requested canon point: Covering the remainder of season 1. Continuity is a bit squiffy as the end of season 1 release-wise is actually the beginning of the story continuity-wise (it's an origin tale). In-universe continuity wise he'll be after the Volpina episode, but the bump includes the origin stuff as it's already happened ICly.
Any notable physical changes?: Nope!
What will they be donating?: He'll offer to help in whatever matters are needed. He doesn't earn a lot of money as yet, but he'd probably donate what he could too.
How would they describe their experience if they submit to an interview?: Given the dual identity thing, he'll probably be cagey as all heck about this. Given he'd be going into the dreaming as Adrien, he would probably discuss some stress and strain about his father nearly being killed horribly and how he was almost kidnapped by someone more than a little bit obsessed with him. He has a lot more worry to deal with thanks to the Miraculous side of things, including the knowledge that his father knows something about Miraculouses but he won't discuss any of that because secrets.
I know Milyn is currently out of action, so this is just a note to say I am absolutely cool with holding this off until everything plays out ICly for her stuff. I'm in no desperate rush to get this done, so we cool B)

Character Name: Bisi the Tenno
Current canon point: After the Second Dream quest
Requested canon point: After the War Within quest
Any notable physical changes?: Bisi is no longer disabled, and can now access several new void abilities:
+ Improved Transference: Bisi can now physically teleport into her warframe wherever it is, without the use of any external device, and control it from inside (Bisi is in an incorporeal spirit form while possessing her warframe). She can also use this ability to possess other Orokin technology, and possibly even non-orokin technology.
+ Void Dash: Bisi can warp between two points in space. The distance is very limited when not using a warframe as a conduit.
+ Void Blast: Bisi can channel raw void energy into a destructive beam or blast.
+ Void Cloak: Bisi can turn invisible, fading into the void to avoid detection.
What will they be donating?: She'll be volunteering her time to help Milyn with the dust experiments. She expresses some concern about Milyn using live test subjects, but if they're giving their free consent...
How would they describe their experience if they submit to an interview?: She would hesitatingly explain that the Twin Queens of the Grineer tried to capture her - half out of caution about oversharing, and also because it was a very traumatic and life changing experience, trying to unpackage all of it.
If pressed, Bisi will grow tired, and say that it would take too long to explain everything, but that she learned something of her past, what really happened on the Zariman Ten Zero. She'll mumble the name "Tenshin" but be unwilling to elaborate about it, although she will wonder what happened to the Scepter. She might be convinced to say more in future conversations.

Current canon point: About 20 seconds before the end of Outlast
Requested canon point: The end of Outlast: Whistleblower (which is about...maybe half an hour later at the most because the two run concurrently)
Any notable physical changes?: Well, he gets shot about 50 times. And then he gets healed by the Walrider Swarm and kind of. Covered in nanites. (According to the comic, though, he can withdraw the Swarm and continue to be human.)
He will be capable of becoming the Swarm and...juicing people...instead of just sending the Walrider out like a JJBA Stand.
What will they be donating?: Money to the clinic, and time if she needs it.
How would they describe their experience if they submit to an interview?: Terrible. Awful. Not recommended.
The Gha'nal venom would be the least unpleasant thing about the experience, and he'd immediately throw up afterwards for reasons unrelated to the venom.
He would keep clammed up about most of it because he'd be deeply stressed out and a little concerned about uhhh whatever the hell just happened to him, but he would definitely be a little sarcastic about death not being at all recommended.
