PLAYER PLOTS & EVENTS
REGARDING PLAYER PLOTS |
---|
This page is for two types of activity: informing us of player plots which are large enough to impact the cityscape in some way (ie; not only limited to a small group of characters), and for suggesting ideas for upcoming events for all characters to take part in. It is our goal to provide players with a wide variety of events and plots, with large scale events like worldbuilding and discovery, the developing political scene in Konryu, and smaller and more localized plots like happenings in Keeliai. Our intention, metaplot allowing, is to have landfalls approximately every four to six months, balanced with smaller mini-events in between. Player plots will of course be added into that mix, with whatever dates work best for those coordinating it, save where it drastically clashes with any current event. We'll always try to work with any suggestions for timing. Additionally, the steps to submit an event suggestion are detailed at the bottom of this page. Player-run events are welcomed, on the grounds that anything impacting more than a handful of player characters is run past the mods for approval via the below directions. |
WANT TO SUGGEST AN EVENT? |
Player-run event suggestions are welcomed here at Tu Shanshu! Please note that these are different from the plot developments that are part of the Reward Points system. Those are for metaplot related discoveries, whereas player plots here have no AC points cost. Any event that you submit and that is approved by the mods then becomes your responsibility to facilitate during the time period assigned at the time of approval. The key duty is to provide an OOC planning post with details a few days prior to the event, then start and end OOC posts. To suggest an event, copy and complete the below form and post it in a comment on this page. The mods will discuss the details and get back to you regarding your idea. |

Instigating Character/Incident: Midii gets Murdered!
Event Outline: In the days proceeding the Midsummer Ball, just before the official Vote on High crimes, Midii's body will be found in the gardens. Death seemed to have been swift, with a large contusion on the back of her head and blood pooling behind her. No other signs of injury or trauma are visibly apparent. There will be dirt on her hands, under her fingernails, and faint smudges on her clothes, and a small motor and pestle off to one side. Interestingly enough, however, there are no signs of any pastes or grounded herbs. Meaning she was either attacked before she had the chance to make any, or the murderer took them. The area around is full of footprints, most of them indistinguishable from one another, and non which cane be easily tied to the attack. There will be no other clues aside from a few flecks of blood found inside the bowl of the motor, despite the fact that it would be found turned over and a few feet from the body
Areas Affected: Physically, the immediate event would affect Midii alone. However, such a horror would no doubt reach kedan and Foreigners alike, regardless of any personal connections to her, because of the timing, severity, and unexpectedness of such a crime.
Long-Term Impact: Which it's difficult to predict exactly how the murder will impact individuals and groups, what is clear is that there WILL be an impact. Due to the fact that it will occur JUST before the Vote, it wouldn't be unthinkable for some to think it a conspiracy. Either a fellow foreigner looking to sway the sympathy vote, a Cultist who saw an opportunity to get back at someone who's been learning "trade secrets" in the form of local herbalism, or some yet unknown enemy. What was the motive? Was the attack personal? Why Midii? All these questions and more will be sought amidst the heaviness of knowing someone so young--who had been in Keelai for so long--was just killed.
Suggested Duration & Dates: In between the Midsummer Ball and the Vote on High Crimes. I don't know when the latter is scheduled, but I definitely believe the highest impact would be felt during this time frame.
